Ilan Gordon was a Community Education
Student Intern in 2008-09...
AHS Senior receives scholarship as "Student of Integrity"
Robbinsdale Armstrong High School senior Ilan Gordon is one of two recipients of the 2009 Student of Integrity Scholarships from the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota (BBB).
Gordon received his award, including a cash prize of $5,000, for an essay describing a situation in which his personal ethics played an important part in the resolution of a problem. Gordon chose to describe classroom ethics and the various ways in which students respond to ethical challenges.
"I was flabbergasted when I got the call saying my essay had been chosen as one of two winners among 150 applicants," Gordon said.

“Youth Contribution Award”
Josh Villa, 2009 graduate of Robbinsdale Armstrong High School is the recipient of the 2009 Youth Contribution Award, a state recognition awarded by the Minnesota Community Education Association (MCEA). Each year MCEA recognizes one outstanding young person who exemplifies the core values of Community Education. For the past four years Josh has been intricately involved in many aspects of Robbinsdale Area Schools Community Education; he has coordinated service projects, recruited student volunteers, assisted with teaching enrichment classes, as well as acted as a tri-chair for the Community Education Advisory Council and a student liaison to the School Board of Robbinsdale Area Schools. Josh was nominated by Sandra Bengtson, Community Education Program Director. According to Sandra, “The tremendous impact that Josh has had on our schools and community by positively engaging young people in the betterment of Robbinsdale Area Schools is truly amazing.” Josh will be recognized at the MCEA Annual Fall Conference held at River Centre in St. Paul on Thursday, October 29 th.
