One week prior to your appointment a reminder notice is mailed to you. Plan to spend about an hour at your appointment.
When you get there, your child has a few minutes to play while you fill out several forms. This gives your child time to become comfortable with the room and the screener, who works with your child throughout the entire screening.
The screener reviews the health history form with you. This gives you an opportunity to discuss any areas of concern.
Your child is then screened. After the screening, you meet with the screener for an exit interview. This interview includes information about the child’s development and addresses any questions or concerns you or the screener have at this time. Referrals are made as needed. Information about district and community programs are also made available.
