Enrollment Updates for the 2025-26 School Year

Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) has updated its enrollment process for the 2025-26 school year and beyond. These changes are designed to make the enrollment process clearer, more efficient, and equitable for all families.

Enrollment Options and Timelines

Families can choose from a variety of educational programs, including magnet schools, open enrollment, in-district transfers, Robbinsdale Virtual Academy (RVA), and the Robbinsdale Academy-Highview program. Below are the updated timelines and procedures for enrollment:

  • Magnet Schools Enrollment for the NEXT School Year:
    • Monday, Nov. 3, 2025: Magnet school application window opens
    • Friday, Dec. 19, 2025: Magnet school application deadline
    • Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026: Magnet school lottery results announced
    • After results are posted on Jan. 7, families will have until Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, to accept their placement. If a family declines a spot, the next family on the waitlist will be notified and given one week to accept. This process continues weekly until all available spots are filled.
  • Open and In-District Enrollment for the NEXT School Year:
    • Applications open on Nov. 3
    • Priority Deadline: Applications received by Jan. 15, will receive priority based on district administrative procedures
    • Applications received after Jan. 15, will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Final Deadlines:
    • First-semester applications close on Sep. 20
    • Second-semester applications will open over winter break and close at the start of the second semester
  • Robbinsdale Virtual Academy (RVA): Enrollment remains open year-round, but students must complete the semester once enrolled.
  • Robbinsdale Academy-Highview program: No application deadlines. Students may return to their boundary school or home district as needed.
