The GED tests give individuals the opportunity to earn a State of Minnesota General Education Diploma. These diplomas are widely accepted as meeting the high school graduation requirements for the purpose of employment, promotion, and licensing. In addition, most colleges and universities will accept the diploma as meeting the school's requirements for a high school diploma.

All testers must be 19 years of age or have an age waiver from the State of Minnesota. Applications for age waivers are available through our program office.

The GED tests are computer-based. Four sub-tests make up the GED exam: Reasoning through Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematical Reasoning. Students must register for tests online at GED.com; we have a testing center onsite at Crystal Learning Center.

High school and learners can earn high school credits through the Adult Academic Program credit recovery option.  Students work with licensed teachers online or in-person on curriculum designed to meet the needs of their home high school graduation requirements.  Students must provide an official high school transcript. 

Class Schedule: 
Day: Monday - Thursday from 9 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (In-person or Online)
Evening: Tuesday & Thursday from 5 pm - 8:00 p.m. (Online only)
 

Free, personalized instruction for adults. Classes focus on reading, writing, and math skills in order to prepare for:

• College or Technical School preparation
• Workplace Advancement
• GED / High School Diploma

Teaching methods include: small group instruction, workbooks, computer-based instruction, and videos. Online learning is also available.

The Adult Academic Program offers students a variety of online learning tools based on their current skill level. Online learning students brush up on reading & math or learn English. Our online programs are self-paced and give motivated students to work independently to improve their academic skills. Study from home, the library, or during our online learning labs---anywhere you have an internet connection!

The award-winning Adult Academic Program helps adults improve educational skills in order to achieve their academic and personal goals. Our team of more than 30 licensed teachers and support staff is committed to providing a flexible, caring, and friendly environment for learning. Our English language lessons (ESL) include: vocabulary, speaking & listening, writing, conversation, computer skills, and citizenship preparation. Students are assigned to a class level based on an assessment test.

Our mission is to assist stroke and brain injury survivors to relearn the skills they need to achieve their academic and employment goals.

We serve individuals in the metro area who have had a stroke or brain injury and who want to:

• Relearn academic skills like reading, writing, math, and digital literacy
• Improve confidence to perform lost abilities
• Connect with others who are facing similar challenges
• Get the tools to achieve college, career, and life goals

We offer academic instruction in Reading, Writing and Math utilizing large and small group instruction, computers, iPads, print materials, and conversation. Online learning is also available that can be done in our computer lab or anywhere you have an internet connection.
