Early Adventures is open to any student who is eligible for kindergarten the following school year, not limited to Robbinsdale Area Schools. We take students one year before kindergarten. All students are highly encouraged to be toilet trained before beginning the program. Students who have completed Early Adventures are guaranteed registration in the Summer Adventure Club program once they turn 5 years old.

Locations

Early Adventures is located at FAIR at Pilgrim Lane and Neill Elementary. At both locations students will have access to many amenities including a playground specifically designed for preschool-aged children, a gym and a computer lab. 

Daily Curriculum

Early Adventures has a licensed preschool teacher for the preschool component each day. Teachers use a variety of research-based curriculum to thoughtfully engage children in activities that build essential school-readiness skills. These skills provide children a smooth and successful transition into kindergarten.

Experience

Children will participate in a variety of activities designed to develop the whole child. Our discovery-based, teacher guided curriculum includes:

• Learning center/choice time
• Individual, large and small group projects and activities
• Field trips
• Dramatic play
• Problem solving
• Literacy
• Science and math
• Social skills.

Students are encouraged and supported while being exposed to new opportunities daily!

Hours

Early Adventures will open at 6:30 am, and close at 6:00 pm. Students must be signed in and out each day by an authorized adult.

Meals

A light breakfast and afternoon snack will be provided daily. District food service is also available onsite. Students may purchase hot lunch if they choose.

Ratio

Early Adventures has a 1:10 ratio. 

CLOSINGS DUE TO SNOW 

Early Adventures is closed whenever school is closed due to SNOW.

For emergency school closings, families can find information on the District website - www.rdale.org,  WCCO 830 AM radio, and metro television channels.

EARLY DISMISSAL

• If school is canceled AFTER Early Adventures starts but BEFORE school starts, Early Adventures will stay open for one hour after dismissal for any student already registered for that day.
• If school is canceled AFTER school starts,  Early Adventures will open for one hour after dismissal for any student already registered for that day. 

LATE START

• If a late start is announced BEFORE 6:30 am, Early Adventures will open for one hour prior to school's late start time unless otherwise noted.
• If a late start is announced AFTER 6:30 am, Early Adventures will remain OPEN for children enrolled that day.

CLOSINGS DUE TO COLD

Whenever school closes BEFORE 6:30 AM due to COLD,  one Early Adventures location will be open: FAIR Pilgrim Lane. 

FAIR Pilgrim Lane will host:  Early Adventures Pilgrim Lane and Early Adventures Neill

• Currently-registered Early Adventures families are eligible.

• There is no additional registration for care on cold days.

• The cost will be $41/child.  Fees billed for Early Adventures  care will be deducted from $41.

• There are no refunds due to emergency closings.

• Hours will be 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM.

• No breakfast will be provided, and students need to bring a lunch from home.

• Afternoon snack will be provided.

• Children must bring their school-issued electronic devices since cold days are e-learning days

 *Please Note:  If your child requires medication, please bring it with him/her to the location your child will attend. We will not have access to medication stored at your child's home site.

School year 2024-2025 online registration is open.

Early Adventures follows the Robbinsdale Area Schools school calendar for start and end dates. The program is open on all school days, as well as many Non-School Days.

Students must be registered Monday - Friday.  The tuition is $49 per day, $245 per week.

2024-2025 school year rates and fee schedule

Early Adventures is open many days that school is closed. Registration for these days is separate from your regular schedule so that families may select days based on their individual needs. Non-School Day (NSD) locations may vary.  Watch the website and your site for detailed information.

The fee for each NSD is $42 per child and is invoiced with your regular tuition.  Registration after the deadline is $52/day, pending availability.  Cancellation after the registration deadline won't be issued a refund or credit.
